What GroupMe says about itself
GroupMe's home page lists four use cases: campus, high school, non-profit and friends. Its tagline is "Real chats happen here." We read this on https://groupme.com on October 24, 2026. Its home page does not list a price.
Where BLK Chat is different
BLK Chat starts with a place, not a group. A city room is open to join, so you can talk with people in your city you have not met yet.
Safety and moderation
BLK Chat has visible report and block controls, author deletion, moderator review, rule explanations and an appeal path. Automated tools may help prioritize reports but do not replace human review.
How it works
- Install BLK Chat on iOS or Android.
- Pick an available city, or allow optional location for a nearby one.
- Join a room and start talking with people in your city.
